Mindfulness Group
This group is meant to bring awareness to the senses. We will take a journey through the five senses in a way that can bring positive feelings like laughter, joy, and fun. Be mindful of the possibility of activating negative feelings like worries, fears, and anxieties. Throughout the group we will use each other to empower, uplift, and change our internal and external state of mind.
This group will run for six consecutive weeks.
- Lengths of group 120 minutes
- Time: 10:00am-12:00pm
Week 1:
will focus on the sense of sound. Facilitator will use music selections to tap into sound and connect the mind body experience.
Week 2:
will focus on the sense of taste. Facilitator will use food and drink to tap into the sense of taste and connect the mind body experiences.
Week 3:
will focus on the sense of touch. Facilitator will use activity station to tap into the sense of touch and connect the mind body experiences.
Week 4:
will focus on the sense of sight. Facilitator will use a color worksheet to tap into the sense of sight and connect the mind body experiences.
Week 5:
will focus on the sense of sell. Facilitator will aroma therapy oils to tap into the sense of smell and connect the mind body experiences.
Week 6:
will focus on connecting all 5 senses: taste, touch, sight, smell, and sound. Facilitator will have a pleasant surprise to tap into the senses and connect the mind body experiences.
Health and wellness group: Grief support
Are you experiencing any of the following symptoms:
lack of motivation; loss of focus; loss of interest; rumination; numbness or detachment; poor immune health etc.
This may be the group for you. Grief support is offered to those who have not worked through issues of grief and loss and appropriately or successfully processed those issues. Grief applies to different circumstances like loss of relationship to break up; death(expected/unexpected); incarceration, and change due to relocation etc. Come one. Come all.
This group will run for seven consecutive weeks.
